Customer Review: Why spend more ?
Every product has a market and trying to criticize the D5000 for slightly lower quality pictures when using ISO at 1600 or above when compared with more expensive cameras or talking about the fact that the continues shooting speed is more like 3 than 4 and not as fast as the D90 or higher models makes no sense. The sensor is the same as the d300, a camera 1000 dollars more expensive, even it autofocus is not available when filming, the simple fact that high res video recording is available is great for a camera at that price range. I have taken amazing photos with this camera, there is enough settings to play with to get great details and colors in different environment. If you don’t need a camera for professional reason there is no need to spend one more dime than what this camera cost to get beautiful photos.
Customer Review: Best entry level camera
I was going to buy the Nikon D60, but got this one instead for about the same price It’s really a great beginner’s camera, with everything the D60 has, most of what the D90 has (including movie-shooting) and some things that neither one have, like the useful swiveling LCD. It’s only 2.7 inches instead of three inches, but the ability to shoot from waist level or by holding the camera over my head is really useful. I even have shot a self portrait with it. If your more advanced, you’ll probably want the D90, but if just starting out the D5000 is a great camera. I also recommend David Busch’s Nikon D5000 Guide to Digital SLR Photography as a guide. It’s much more complete than the manual that comes with the camera and will teach you about photography as well as the D5000.

Customer Review: PCB Assembly needed to be replaced after 3 months
We’re Not happy with this camera. My first Canon camera was a S400. After 8 years of use, it needed a repair which was a known defect so Canon covered all shipping and repair costs. We purchased the SD880IS in February 2009 and the “PCB Assembly was inoperative” 3 months later. We hardly even used it! We used the camera heavily for 3.5 days out of those 3 months before it broke. Very disappointing. Don’t Buy! Don’t Buy!
Customer Review: My SD 880 IS is superb!
I have read the negative reviews of the SD 880 IS and can only conclude that there must have been a small batch of cameras that were defective since the majority of evaluations were positive. I have owned a number of Canons and they have been excellent. I have had the 880 since last November when I passed my SD 870 IS down to my son. I wanted the new features and they have proved very beneficial. The picture quality, especially sharpness and color saturation, are exceptional especially when enlarging to letter sized prints. I recommended this camera to a friend of mine and unfortunately he had the “black screen” experience mentioned in one of the negative reviews. Before the problem, however, he took over 800 really beautiful pictures in Egypt, Jordan and the Holy Land. I hope Canon rectifies the defects in manufacturing as I am a big supporter of these wonderful little cameras.

I purchased this T-mount to attach my newly purchased Canon Rebel Xsi to a Bausch and Lomb Discoverer 60mm Telescope. With the T-mount attached to my camera, and a t-adapter attached to the scope, I have a 1000-4000mm lens that works great for moon photos and animal pictures. It took me a little while to adjust the camera settings to fit the telescope, but after a couple nights of changing the settings, I got some pretty nice moon shots. This T-mount is simple, easy to use, and connects easily to the scope with an additional T-adapter. The mount seems strong and sturdy; my camera feels securely connected to the telescope.
